Thumbnail Filmstrip of Rosa arkansana - Wild Rose Images
This is the classic Wild Rose. A prickly-stemmed native shrub, its pink and white, five-petaled
flowers are a feature of western prairies and meadows. Very drought tolerant, in the autumn its bright red rose hips (seed pods) provide food for birds
well into the winter.
Rosa arkansana does spread by rhizomes so be sure to give it plenty of room!
